| As
we evaluate the effectiveness of the D-Star repeater we are naturally
interested in knowing how well it is working. We would expect
reasonable coverage throughout the Puget Sound area but would be very
interested if you are able to access it from farther away.
As mentioned elsewhere,
the repeater is located on Gold Mountain, S.W. of Bremerton. As
it happens there are two excellent FM repeaters on Gold Mountain,
operated by the Western Washington
Repeater Association, WW7RA, 447.65/442.65 (103.5), and by K7PP,
446.25/441.25 (97.4).
A comparison of the
coverage between the D-Star system and the FM repeaters would be very
interesting, especially if conducted in the 'fringe' areas. If
you have an opportunity to perform the comparison please let us know
of your results. Thanks!
